Computerized Dentistry

The wonders of modern technology have made dental treatment
more effective, faster, and less uncomfortable for most
patients. At Longbranch Dental Center, we use the latest
procedures to give you a healthy mouth and a happy smile.
Laser Dentistry
The dental laser is an important tool for establishing
optimum gum health and creating an even gingival smile line.
Computerized dentistry uses the newest technology in designing
dental restorations (like crowns) on the computer and placing
them in the mouth all in one visit.
What it means for the patient
Because the laser is very precise, it allows us to
treat gum disease earlier than ever before with little
or no bleeding.
Will it hurt?
What many patients appreciate most about laser dentistry
is comfort! The laser greatly reduces the need for anesthetics.
Post-operative pain medication is reduced or eliminated.
Is it safe?
Yes! Lasers like the one in our office have safely
performed millions of procedures. Laser dentistry is
also supported by hundreds of university studies. Our
laser is so precise, it only removes a few cell layers
at a time.
Is every patient treated with the laser?
Though it is a wonderful instrument, the laser is not
appropriate for all procedures. It is frequently used
in conjunction with conventional instruments.

Anxiety Reduction Program
At Longbranch Dental we solve the problem of stress during
dental procedures in a variety of ways, each uniquely
tailored to the individual patient.
We use the following options to manage patient anxiety:
- Nitrous Oxide
- Topical Anesthetics
- Electronic Anesthesia
- Warm Anesthetics
- Tranquilizers (if necessary)
- IV Sedation
- Virtual Reality Glasses

Micro-Abrasion Dentistry
New dental technology has developed something many patients
and their dentists have been wanting — the ability to
remove decay from teeth without drilling and, usually,
without anesthesia. Air abrasion works by delivering a
tiny stream of particles through a nozzle using air pressure.
Patients love it!
Many patients, especially children, can now have cavities
treated faster, easier, and more painlessly than ever
before. Fillings are smaller than with conventional
methods, making future fractures less likely.

Low Dose X-Ray
Longbranch Dental uses special low dose x-rays. This
imaging system uses 90% less radiation than standard dental
office x-rays.These x-rays can be stored digitally on
our computer for reference and future electronic filing
with insurance companies.

Color Imaging Camera
(Intra-Oral Camera) This technique provides the patient
- you! - with a close-up view of your teeth, enabling
you to see exactly what dental problems need correcting.
